ABOUT
Design 155 is a full-service design, manufacturing, fabrication and consulting studio. Artistic and functional solutions to design needs, from a single item to an entire office building, both residential and commercial. With multi-media and multi-disciplinary capabilities, 95% of projects can be accomplished completely within the studio. Remaining items are completed using local partners like Bethel Valley Electric and Wicked Fab Works (CNC plasma-cutting/machining).

THE ARTIST
I'm William Derek Rhodarmer, born in Asheville, I studied photography, painting and printmaking, finishing with an MFA from the University of Pennsylvania. Two decades followed as a traditional and digital artist. After stints in Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Durham and, beginning in 1998, after renovating three historic homes and a barn, I returned to WNC to design and build furniture and accessories. I relish crafting with an aesthetic outlook joined seamlessly with a functional purpose and steeped in a knowledge of design history. Additional artwork can be found at:
